Insite Finance is seeking an OMB Director in Cardiff to take ownership of a substantial owner-managed business (OMB) portfolio and help shape the firm’s next growth phase. Responsibilities

• Acting as a senior adviser to owner-managers and their leadership teams.
• Taking responsibility for a significant OMB portfolio.
• Leading complex accounts and business advisory assignments for owner-managed clients.
• Handling technical accounting questions that fall outside routine compliance.
• Meeting clients regularly and building strong personal relationships with business owners.
• Helping identify new OMB work from existing and prospective clients.
• Coaching managers and supporting succession across the OMB team.
• Working closely with the wider leadership group on OMB growth strategy.

Job description

A successful High Growth firm is looking for an OMB Director capable of taking genuine ownership of a substantial owner-managed business portfolio while helping shape the next stage of its growth.

The firm is already one of the strongest performers in its region, highly profitable and continuing to invest heavily in people. Growth here is being driven by demand from an established OMB client base and the need to create additional senior capacity.

As OMB Director, you would work closely with an Audit and Accounts Director who is currently operating at capacity.

The portfolio includes entrepreneurial start-ups, growing owner-managed companies and established OMB clients with turnover of up to around £15m.

This is very much a relationship-led OMB environment. Clients in Cardiff are accustomed to sitting down with their advisers and discussing problems properly rather than sending requests into a faceless central inbox.

The right OMB Director will therefore combine strong technical capability with the judgement and communication skills needed to advise an owner when the answer isn't immediately obvious.

Experience from an independent, regional or mid-tier accountancy firm, ideally with a genuine focus on owner-managed businesses, is likely to translate particularly well.
