Job summary

Randox Laboratories in Northern Ireland is seeking an Oligonucleotide Synthesis Team Leader to drive the development, optimisation and implementation of synthesis, purification and QC methods. • Qualified to at least degree level in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or a life-science related subject.
• Strong analytical aptitude with ability to work at chemistry-biology interface.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable voicing opinions and sharing ideas with the team.
• Excellent organisation skills.
• High level of commitment and professional integrity.
• Experience in developing new laboratory processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop the oligonucleotide synthesis team.
• Train team members in all aspects of synthesis work.
• Maintain high quality and safety within the team.
• Drive continuous improvement.
• Synthesize oligonucleotides on automated platforms.
• Perform cleavage and deprotection following synthesis.
• Purify oligonucleotides via desalt, cartridge and HPLC.
• Assess quality of oligonucleotides via LCMS, HPLC and Capillary electrophoresis.
• Prepare reagents and materials for synthesis, purification and QC.
• Contribute to advancing the lab and procedures.
• Troubleshoot synthesis and purification to improve yield and efficiency.
• Meet target timelines and collaborate with other teams.
