Job summary

Millicents day centre in Clacton, part of The Methodist Church in Britain's older people’s service, is hiring a permanent support worker for 18 hours a week. You will provide personal care, support nutrition and hydration, assist with medication where required, and run activities on site and in the community.

Applicants should be empathetic with excellent listening and communication skills, basic IT ability, and be proactive and flexible.

• Travel across Essex to attend training, work at other centres and visit people in the community.

Job description

Permanent support worker post with the ECL team at Millicents day centre in Clacton, part of its older people's service. The work centres on personal care, supporting nutrition and hydration, helping with medication where required, and running tailored activities that build independence and social contact on site and in the community. Clients include people with dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, reduced mobility or dysphagia, and the post is 18 hours a week with travel across Essex. Applicants who need visa sponsorship cannot apply directly.
