Job summary

Finning is seeking a meticulous Laboratory Technician to perform analyses on oil, fuel, and coolant samples using a range of manual and automated techniques. The role focuses on sample preparation, data entry into LIMS, and contributing to SOP development under GLP standards.

The ideal candidate will have industrial lab experience or an HNC/HND in a scientific discipline, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to work within a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Industrial laboratory experience or equivalent
• Strong analytical skills across techniques/equipment
• Deep understanding of GLP, COSHH and Laboratory H&S
• Excellent attention to detail and SOP adherence
• Teamwork and strong communication
• Customer-focused and precise data handling

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses on oil, fuel, and coolant samples using wet chemistry, GC, FTIR, ICP-OES, XRF, KF, autotitrators and automation
• Prepare samples in batches following SOPs
• Investigate and implement laboratory process improvements as directed
• Enter data and results into LIMS accurately
• Write/review SOPs to GLP standards as required by the Supervisor
