Job summary

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. invites applications for a Year in Industry placement at Robin Rigg Offshore Windfarm, Workington. This full-time fixed-term role (13 months) is site-based and requires residence nearby due to location.

Qualifications

• Ongoing studies in mechanical/electrical engineering or IT/computing related disciplines.
• Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Confidence working in a diverse team and engaging with stakeholders.
• Motivation; cover letter explains suitability and career plans.
• Minimum five years’ UK residence due to National Security Vetting considerations.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical insight into the day-to-day operation of an offshore wind farm.
• Build hands-on offshore engineering experience by working on wind turbines.
• Support the development and implementation of engineering policies and procedures for wind farm operations.
• Take ownership of an allocated project from start to finish.
• Contribute to tasks supporting strategic engineering and commercial decisions.
• Assist with planning, scheduling and delivery of maintenance to optimise costs and plant performance.
• Deliver selected engineering projects for Robin Rigg Offshore Windfarm based on degree discipline and experience.
