Job summary

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. offers a Year in Industry placement at Rampion Offshore Windfarm in Newhaven, with a hybrid model (three days on site, rest at home).

You will gain hands-on experience in operations engineering, safety, and performance improvement within a leading offshore wind portfolio. Successful candidates are currently studying engineering, eligible for a year-in-industry placement, and demonstrate strong communication, planning, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Ongoing degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organise workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Confidence working in a diverse team and engaging with stakeholders across the business.
• Willingness to travel to other sites with travel expenses covered.
• Motivation shown in a cover letter detailing alignment with studies and career plans.
• At least five years of residence in the UK due to potential National Security Vetting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience across the full scope of offshore wind farm operations, including safety management and reporting.
• Work with stakeholders across the business and within the joint venture partnership.
• Analyse turbine faults and recommend modifications to maximise output and performance.
• Identify and document operational risks.
• Support daily site fault reporting, work planning and technical decision-making.
• Lead a high-profile continuous improvement project, including budget, contract and contractor management.
• Help maintain and operate the wind farm efficiently to power hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses across the UK.
• Contribute to team decisions and deliver a tangible impact on the business.
