Job summary

SSE Renewables is seeking an Offshore Wind & Renewable Energy Analyst to contribute to the design, evaluation and investment decisions of global offshore wind projects. You will analyse wind resources, model layouts and deliver energy yield assessments to support project viability.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a technical discipline (engineering/physics/math/environmental science).
• Strong analytical and data-processing capabilities with practical recommendations.
• Experience using Windographer and WindFarmer Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver wind resource analysis using meteorological data and remote sensing.
• Design and optimise offshore wind farm layouts balancing energy, constraints and economics.
• Conduct wind flow, wake modelling and energy yield assessments for investment cases.
• Support site conditions assessments influencing turbine selection and foundations.
• Develop analytical tools and models using Python and Matlab to improve decisions.
• Support Levelised Cost of Energy and energy/cost time-series modelling.
