Matchtech seeks an Offshore Structures Transportation & Installation Lead to join the renewables team in the UK, based in Bristol or London. The role drives offshore wind project execution, leading transport and installation strategies and coordinating with engineering, marine operations, and contractors.

You will manage schedules, vessel selection, and port logistics, ensure HSE-compliant practices, and interface with regulators and stakeholders to deliver major offshore wind schemes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in offshore windfarm T&I strategies and execution.
• In-depth knowledge of marine operations, vessel suitability, and offshore installation procedures.
• Strong technical oversight skills including engineering deliverables and alignment.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Transport & Installation (T&I) strategy for offshore wind projects.
• Define installation methodologies for foundations, substations, and cables.
• Manage installation schedules, sequences, and marine logistics.
• Oversee T&I engineering deliverables including lifts, rigging, and sea fastening.
• Review contractor T&I documentation and align with design teams.
• Lead planning and readiness for offshore campaigns and vessel selection.
• Act as primary interface for T&I contractors and regulators to ensure compliance.
• Lead risk assessments and ensure ALARP and industry-standard practices.

Offshore Structures Transportation & Installation Lead

Our client in the renewables sector is currently seeking an Offshore Structures Transportation & Installation Lead to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. This opportunity is available in Bristol or London, and it's a unique role aimed at driving the offshore execution of the energy transition through leadership in transport and installation (T&I) for major offshore wind projects.

Key Responsibilities:

T&I Strategy & Planning

• Develop and lead the Transport & Installation (T&I) strategy for offshore wind projects.
• Define installation methodologies for WTG foundations, offshore substations, and subsea cables.
• Manage installation schedules, sequences, and marine logistics.

Engineering & Technical Oversight

• Oversee T&I engineering deliverables including lift studies, rigging design, and sea fastening.
• Align with structural design, geotechnical, and cable engineering teams.
• Review and approve contractor T&I engineering documentation.

Marine Operations & Execution

• Lead planning and readiness for offshore campaigns.
• Assess vessel selection and port logistics.
• Provide technical support during offshore operations.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary interface for T&I contractors and stakeholders.
• Support procurement activities including preparation of T&I scopes of work.
• Engage with certification bodies and regulators to ensure compliance.

Risk, Safety & Assurance

• Lead HSE-by-design approach for all T&I activities.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Develop ALARP installation solutions.
