Job Purpose
The Installation Manager will be assigned to a project and will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient completion of the transportation and installation elements of the WTG Foundation scope of work.
The responsibilities include:
- Development and implementation of the package engineering plan and conceptual design for T&I, incorporated into the overall installation strategy.
- Development and maintenance of a base case construction programme for the work package.
- Creation of the Employer’s Technical Requirements for T&I and technical evaluation of bids.
- Management of Contractor’s early engineering works, review, and acceptance of engineering procedures for T&I.
- Supervision of the Contractor’s offshore works.
- As-built reporting and final acceptance of the completed works.
- Management of the handover process to the operation and maintenance team.
The Lead Installation Manager may also act as deputy to the Package Manager and handle additional responsibilities such as health and safety management, budgeting, planning, procurement, and reporting.
Main Activities
Project Management
- Development and implementation of a package engineering plan and management of related services.
- Coordination of interface tasks as per the project’s Interface Management Plan.
- Management of Certified Verification Agency (CVA) approval process for Transportation and Installation.
- Implementation of effective communication protocols among all project stakeholders.
- Completion and organization of administrative tasks related to planning and execution of installation works.
Procurement
- Preparation of technical documentation for inclusion in ITT and EPCI packages.
- Technical assessment of bids, including T&I solutions, compliance, programme, weather, vessel assurance, and risk analysis.
- Supporting technical evaluation with coordination among reviewers.
Consents
- Coordination of consent deliverables.
- Technical assistance for discharge of project’s consent conditions.
- Management of conceptual design and interface engineering activities.
- Management and approval of Contractor’s installation activities.
- Survey strategy definition and management of survey works.
- Preparation of T&I documentation for consent discharge.
T&I Contract Management
- Support in managing T&I Contractor activities, including quality, health, safety, and environmental aspects.
- Management of detailed design and offshore transportation & installation works.
Execution of the Works
- Review and approval of Contractor’s procedures and studies.
- Management of Marine Warranty Surveyor and offshore representatives.
- Coordination of offshore works and monitoring progress.
- Approval of as-installed records and support for NCR close-out.
