Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking a Marine Safety Advisor based in Scotland, with a requirement to split time between Aberdeen or Inverness offices and remote locations. The role focuses on providing marine safety guidance across offshore and marine works to ensure projects are delivered safely and in line with the Safety Management System.

You will support vessel mobilisation, offshore construction activities and continuous improvement of marine safety, working with project, marine and contractor

Qualifications

• Experience in offshore construction or marine operations, with knowledge of safety requirements and risks
• Ability to build relationships across project, marine and contractor teams to provide pragmatic safety advice
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment in offshore environments
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel; BOSIET and offshore medical certificate advantageous

Responsibilities

• Provide practical marine safety advice and support to project and marine teams to implement the Safety Management System
• Engage with contract partners remotely and on worksites to monitor safety performance and help deliver safe projects
• Develop and review SSEN Transmission and partner documentation for safe vessel mobilisation and offshore operations
• Attend risk reviews (HAZIDs, HIRAs) providing marine safety expertise to reduce risk
• Support audits, inspections and investigations; ensure incidents are reviewed and closed out appropriately
