Job summary

Transocean is seeking a responsible 2nd Assistant Engineer to supervise the maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment on offshore rigs. You will oversee safe operations, ensure environmental protection, and coordinate with the First Engineer and marine crew to manage fuel, water, and drill water logistics.

The role requires a valid 2nd Engineer Unlimited License (Class 2) and relevant regulatory qualifications, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adherence to

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant trade certificate.
  • Military discharge preferred for US candidates.
  • Graduate of trade school or university where applicable.
  • Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.
  • Knowledge of technical calculations for safe drilling operation.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance and repair of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment onboard the vessel.
  • Control and operate rig mechanical systems with safety and environmental protection in mind.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and operational procedures and audits.
  • Mentor junior engineers and operators on duty.
  • Coordinate with First Engineer and marine department on fuel, water and drill water logistics.
