Job summary

Osprey Engineering Solutions Ltd is expanding its Dundee operation and seeks an Offshore Sales Engineer to develop new business and grow existing accounts across the offshore energy market. You will engage with engineers, buyers and decision-makers, delivering technical and commercial solutions from enquiry through tender and order, with after-sales support.

The role requires a commercially focused engineer who can discuss technical detail with credibility, negotiate terms, and travel regularly

Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical or engineering sales, sales engineering or account management.
• Experience selling to offshore energy sector (oil and gas or offshore renewables).
• Engineering background with a degree, HNC/HND or apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to discuss technical detail with customers and understand applications.
• Strong commercial awareness with quotation preparation and negotiation experience.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; full UK driving licence and travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Identify and win new business with offshore operators, contractors and OEMs.
• Build a strong sales pipeline and convert opportunities into orders.
• Follow up leads from enquiries, marketing campaigns and industry exhibitions.
• Track market trends, competitor activity and upcoming offshore projects.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
• Visit customers at offices and sites to understand their needs.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations and tender responses.
• Support customers after sale and resolve technical queries.
• Negotiate pricing and terms within guidelines and report on activity, pipeline and forecasts.
