Job summary

JAM is seeking an experienced commissioning engineer to support ABB automation and control systems on offshore projects. The role involves programming ABB AC800M controllers and working with ABB 800xA distributed control systems, plus safeguarding legacy systems and delivering commissioning documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum commissioning experience in offshore/process industry environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with ABB 800xA.
• Experience programming ABB AC800M controllers.
• Experience working with and programming Safeguard legacy systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex automation and control systems.
• Strong understanding of commissioning procedures and safe systems of work.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Previous offshore commissioning experience.
• Experience on oil & gas, energy, or other process industry projects.

Responsibilities

• Commission, test and support ABB automation and control systems.
• Program, configure and modify ABB AC800M controllers.
• Work with ABB 800xA distributed control systems.
• Support and maintain Safeguard legacy systems, including programming and modifications.
• Carry out commissioning activities in accordance with project schedules and safety procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve control system issues during commissioning and start-up.
• Produce commissioning documentation and provide technical support throughout project delivery.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams to ensure successful project completion.
