Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd seeks a Commissioning Engineer to lead ABB automation commissioning offshore. You will test, commission and support ABB 800xA systems and program ABB AC800M controllers on offshore rotations.

Applicants should have proven offshore commissioning experience, hands-on ABB 800xA and AC800M expertise, and be adept at troubleshooting complex automation systems while ensuring safe procedures and timely project delivery.

• Support and maintain Safeguard legacy systems, including programming and modifications.
• Carry out commissioning activities in accordance with project schedules and safety procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve control system issues during commissioning and start-up.
• Produce commissioning documentation and provide technical support throughout project delivery.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams to ensure successful project completion.

Commissioning Engineer - ABB 800xA / AC800M (Offshore Rotation)

Location: Overseas Offshore

Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract

Rotation: 5 Weeks On / 5 Weeks Off

Rate: £80-£90 per hour

Working Hours: 12-hour days (including travel days)

Key Responsibilities

• Commission, test and support ABB automation and control systems.
• Program, configure and modify ABB AC800M controllers.
• Work with ABB 800xA distributed control systems.

Essential Requirements

Desirable Experience

• Previous offshore commissioning experience.
• Experience on oil & gas, energy, or other process industry projects.
• Relevant offshore certification (or willingness to obtain prior to mobilisation).
