Job Description
This role is vital to CAB’s performance and perception, reporting directly to the Head of COO Business Performance. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, an effective communicator at all levels, and able to remain calm under pressure. Responsibilities include overseeing health and safety protocols, ensuring staff welfare, and maintaining a safe, engaging, and supportive work environment. As the first point of contact for external clients and suppliers, professionalism and accountability are essential to embody CAB’s values and vision.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring annual Fire Risk Assessments are conducted by external contractors and that recommendations are implemented.
- Completing and reviewing Health & Safety assessments and policies annually.
- Carrying out risk assessments related to maternity and other staff health considerations.
- Conducting Health & Safety inductions for new staff.
- Maintaining current certifications for Fire Marshals, First Aiders, and Mental Health First Aiders, arranging refresher courses as needed.
- Recording accidents and near misses, following RIDDOR procedures when necessary.
- Performing DSE assessments annually and addressing equipment requests.
- Reviewing and updating Personal Emergency Evacuation Procedures (PEEP) forms biannually.
- Managing building security, liaising with maintenance providers, and overseeing access controls and CCTV systems.
- Coordinating deliveries, contractor onboarding, and security passes.
- Managing facilities-related contracts, including negotiations, renewals, and compliance monitoring.
- Processing purchase orders and invoices, monitoring the facilities budget, and conducting due diligence on quotes and invoices.
- Planning and coordinating installations, refurbishments, and office moves.
- Ensuring maintenance issues are addressed promptly and tracking resolution progress.
- Participating in Business Continuity planning and meetings, focusing on building-related aspects.
- Managing the operation of the café facilities and conducting periodic surveys.
- Acting as the single point of contact for property management, security, loading bays, and tenant reception.
- Attending tenant meetings and managing communication regarding rent, service charges, and other updates.
- Supporting reception duties during high demand or special events, including covering when necessary.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Previous responsibility for Health & Safety management.
- Experience managing budgets.
