Job summary

Ministry of Justice is seeking a Prison Offender Manager to lead the management and assessment of low to medium risk prisoners. The role focuses on developing sentence plans, building supportive relationships to reduce reoffending, and supporting probation officers for high-risk cases.

Responsibilities include leading ACCT processes where applicable, coordinating with partners, and maintaining case documentation. Proficiency in English and experience with offender management are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing offenders and reducing reoffending.
• Ability to assess risk and contribute to safeguarding.
• Strong liaison with criminal justice partners and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the full range of offender management tasks with low to medium risk cases.
• No ownership of high risk cases, but provide support to probation officers when required.
• Lead sentence planning meetings and coordinate sentence plan activities.
• Maintain documentation and use IT systems (PNOMIS/OASys) to record progress and decisions.
• Collaborate with MAPPA Boards and other agencies to protect the public.
