Job summary

WR Logistics in Bradford is seeking an Ocean Import Operator to take ownership of shipments from origin to delivery. You will manage ocean imports (FCL/LCL), liaise with overseas agents and customers, and coordinate bookings and documentation.

This role offers hybrid working, a salary up to £37,000 depending on experience, and private healthcare with 25 days holiday. You will build strong relationships through responsive service and handle cost control and invoicing.

Qualifications

• Previous ocean import experience within freight forwarding
• A good understanding of the import process from origin through to delivery
• Confidence liaising with customers, overseas agents and suppliers
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• The ability to manage several shipments and competing deadlines
• A proactive approach to resolving problems and keeping customers informed

Responsibilities

• Managing ocean import shipments, including FCL and LCL movements
• Liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customers
• Arranging bookings, monitoring arrivals and coordinating deliveries
• Preparing and checking shipping documentation
• Coordinating customs clearance and ensuring the required information is available
• Providing accurate updates and resolving delays or shipment queries
• Obtaining rates, preparing quotations and managing shipment costs
• Maintaining accurate records and completing invoicing
• Building strong relationships through responsive customer service
