White Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Ocean Freight Operator for our Manchester client in the freight forwarding sector. You will manage sea freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring efficient handling and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include importing/exporting ocean freight, booking cargo, customs clearance, liaising with carriers and customers, and maintaining accurate shipment records. UK-based role with strong career progression opportunities.

Are you an experienced Ocean Freight Operator looking to join a growing freight forwarding business where you'll be trusted, supported and given genuine opportunities to develop your career?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, privately owned logistics provider with an excellent reputation for delivering first-class freight solutions. Due to continued growth, they're looking to strengthen their Manchester operations team with an experienced Ocean Freight Operator.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing sea freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring every consignment is handled efficiently while providing exceptional customer service.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing import, export and cross-trade ocean freight shipments
• Booking cargo with shipping lines and overseas agents
• Customs clearance and shipping documentation
• Liaising with customers, carriers and international partners
• Preparing quotations and following up on new opportunities
• Costing, invoicing and maintaining accurate shipment records
• Building long-term customer relationships and supporting account growth

About You

To be successful, you'll have:

• Previous end-to-end Ocean Freight forwarding experience
• Strong knowledge of import and export operations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
• CargoWise experience would be advantageous
