Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an Ocean Export Operator in Tilbury to manage export sea freight end-to-end, from booking to final destination. The role combines four office days with one day per week working from home and requires strong liaison with shipping lines and overseas partners.

The position offers a salary up to GBP 40,000 per year, with emphasis on accuracy, customer service, and regulatory compliance in a fast-growing logistics environment. Start ASAP, permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Experience in export sea freight shipments.
• Keen eye for detail and strong communication.
• Experience with reefer/temperature-controlled shipments preferred, not essential.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and book cargo with shipping lines.
• Prepare and check export documents (Bills of Lading, Health Certificates, Certificates of Origin).
• Coordinate collection and delivery through to final destination.
• Monitor shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Resolve delays and keep customers informed.
• Verify supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle shipment queries and provide regular updates.
• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the export journey.
• Support colleagues and management to ensure smooth operation.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements.
