Job summary

White Recruitment is assisting a client in Southampton to recruit an Ocean Import Operator. The role covers end-to-end ocean import operations from origin to destination, delivering excellent customer service throughout the life cycle of the shipment.

You will handle quotes, bookings, liaison with overseas agents and complete customs clearances. You should have 1-3 years of ocean freight operations experience (import/export) and may have experience with Cargowise.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in ocean freight operations in import or export operations.
• Experience with Cargowise software is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Complete deep sea import operations from start to finish.
• Provide first rate customer service delivering the full life cycle of the import process.
• Provide rates and quotes (LCL/FCL).
• Create bookings from origin for LCL & FCL Import shipments.
• Liaise with overseas agents, hauliers, shipping lines and customers directly.
• Complete customs clearances for all import shipments.

Location: Totton, Southampton

Salary: £35,000

Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30am - 17:00

holiday: 25 days + bank holidays

Ocean Import Operator Role & Responsibilities:

• Complete deep sea import operations from start to finsh

• Create bookings from origin for LCL & FCL Import shipments

The Package: Salary: up to £35,000 (Negotiable)
