Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a newly qualified Occupational Therapist to support a welcoming primary school in Walker with SEND pupils. You will work alongside teachers, therapists and SEND professionals to provide personalised strategies that promote self-care, motor skills and confidence in learning.

The role focuses on using sensory approaches, building rapport with children and collaborating within a supportive team to ensure daily progress in a busy classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy or due to graduate this year.
• Interest in working with children with SEND.
• Calm, patient and creative in helping children succeed.
• Capable of working in a team and communicating confidently.
• Experience with children through placements or volunteering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEND.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEND professionals and therapists to provide personalised support.
• Help children develop fine motor skills, independence and confidence in class.
• Apply sensory strategies and therapeutic approaches to support learning and wellbeing.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and celebrate progress.
