Protocol Education is currently seeking a graduate or soon-to-graduate Occupational Therapist to join a welcoming primary school in Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne. You will support children with SEND, collaborating with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised approaches.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Occupational Therapy or imminent graduation.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences and physical needs
• Working alongside teachers, SEND professionals and therapists to deliver personalised support
• Helping children develop fine motor skills, independence and confidence in the classroom
• Using sensory strategies and therapeutic approaches to support learning and wellbeing
• Building positive relationships with pupils and celebrating every success, big or small

We're looking for someone who

• Holds a degree in Occupational Therapy or is due to graduate this year
• Has a genuine interest in working with children with SEND
• Is calm, patient and enjoys finding creative ways to help children succeed
• Works well as part of a team and communicates confidently
• Has experience with children or young people through placements, volunteering or previous work, although this isn't essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
