Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner in the Medicine and Oncology Occupational Therapy Team, based at the City Campus.
You will be involved in assessing, treating, and rehabilitating patients with complex physical and cognitive needs, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to support patient discharge from hospital. Some clerical and administrative tasks, such as record-keeping, filing, and photocopying, will also be required. You are expected to work independently.
We seek an individual with experience in therapies within a health or social care setting. You should enjoy working with medicine and oncology patients, including end-of-life care. The role requires motivation, adaptability to changing priorities in a busy environment, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
This position also involves contributing to weekend and bank holiday shifts as part of our rota.
The successful applicant will collaborate with Occupational Therapists covering respiratory, renal, oncology, and haematology wards.

The Occupational Therapy service is part of the Therapies, Outpatients and Phlebotomy Services (TOPS) Directorate within the Specialist Clinical Services care group. Our diverse team of around 1,000 staff includes physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists, and speech and language therapists. Leadership is provided by a Chief AHP and a supportive directorate leadership team, with dedicated Practice Development Therapists to support career growth.
