This post offers an opportunity for a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant to work within the Low Secure Forensic Service. The role involves being part of a Recovery-focused Occupational Therapy Team, conducting specialist group and individual work within inpatient units across rehab wards.

Job description

Job responsibilities

• Implement agreed occupational therapy treatment plans under supervision, conducting practical activities with service users.
• Review and modify treatment programmes in collaboration with senior OT staff.
• Assist in assessment and treatment of service users within a specialist mental health setting.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team, attending relevant meetings.
• Maintain records and report on service users' progress and performance.
• Ensure all clinical contacts include risk assessments and appropriate management.
• Participate in developing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Deliver treatments flexibly and contribute to the Recovery College activities.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications/Training (Desirable)

• NVQ and/or B-tech in Care-related skills
• Qualification in relevant practical skills

Experience (Essential)

• Using practical and creative skills
• Working with individuals with mental health issues

Experience (Desirable)

• Experience in a forensic mental health setting (listed twice, consider consolidating)

Knowledge and Skills (Essential)
