Job summary

Optima Health is seeking an Occupational Health Screening Nurse for three site roles in Morpeth, Gateshead and Sunderland. The role involves immunisations, health surveillance and vaccine administration, with a strong focus on professional development and CPD to support career progression.

The position is permanent, part-time (15 hours/week) with Mondays and Wednesdays, offering pro rata salary of £34,500–£36,500. Right to work in the UK is required, and a supportive training academy is in place.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with NMC registration.
• Some experience of delivering injections.
• Desirable — experience of delivering immunisations or venepuncture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational health services with focus on immunisations and vaccinations.
• Advise clients on immunisation services and improvements.
• Conduct immunisation health assessments and surveillance for work-related risks.
• Promote employee health and wellbeing across client organisations.
• Provide health education to maximise participation in activities at work.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team, sharing knowledge with peers.
• Maintain NMC registration and CPD to required standards.

Role Summary

We are looking for an Occupational Health Screening Nurse to join the Optima team. This is a varied role, carrying out a mixture of immunisations, health surveillance and administering vaccines. In return, we offer an industry-leading training and development program to help you get where you want to go in Occupational Health. If you want to carry out additional training and qualifications or take on a leadership and management responsibility, then we will help support you.

The 2 working days would rotate between the 3 main sites (CNTW - Morpeth, Gateshead & Sunderland), however some weeks could be 2 days at Morpeth for example. Adhoc support may be required for CNTW Carlisle, TETW Durham and Middlesborough.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• Delivering a range of Occupational Health services and clinics for our client, with a focus on immunisations and vaccinations.
• Advise our clients on current immunisation services and recommendations for improvement.
• Conducting immunisation health assessments and surveillance, relating to potential exposure to health risks at work.
• Promoting employee health and wellbeing for our clients and across the wider business.
• Giving health education on relevant issues, promoting a healthy lifestyle to all employees in order to maximise participation in activities at work and elsewhere.
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team by sharing knowledge, supporting and challenging your peers.
• Maintaining registration and Continuous Professional Development by meeting or exceeding standards set by the NMC.
