Job summary

Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) is seeking an experienced Nutritional Team Leader to oversee a high-volume nutritional testing laboratory in Reading. You will manage a team of circa 5 FTEs, drive lean automation, ensure quality and safety, and coordinate with commercial teams to grow services.

The role requires a degree or PhD in a relevant science, strong leadership and project management, and a track record in laboratory operations and LIMS integration.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor scientific staff through change.
• Knowledge of Quality standards in the food industry (UKAS).
• Experience in laboratory automation and IT integration.
• English fluency, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality customer service and timely results.
• Maintain LIMS competency and monitor performance.
• Support management to ensure smooth lab operations.
• Optimize sample flow with a focus on automation.
• Plan resources and manage the laboratory budget.
• Ensure quality and issue COAs with timely reporting.
