Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Nursery Practitioner to join a Scarborough school. The role covers EYFS and primary support, with a focus on learning, development and wellbeing. Start ASAP on a full-time contract, term-time only, in a welcoming environment.

You will work with teachers and staff to deliver engaging activities, support 1:1 and small groups, promote wellbeing and safeguarding, and help children build confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in EYFS, nursery or primary settings.
• Relevant childcare, education or Teaching Assistant qualification, or suitable experience.
• Warm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Confident in supporting learning and development.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic.
• Good safeguarding and child protection understanding.

Responsibilities

• Support children across EYFS and primary-aged year groups with their learning and development.
• Work closely with teachers and other education staff to provide engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
• Support children's social, emotional and personal development.
• Assist with classroom and nursery activities, ensuring children are encouraged to participate and develop their confidence.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
• Support positive behaviour and encourage children's independence.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all children.
