Job summary

GSL Education is seeking an Early Years Practitioner in Chesterfield to support young children’s learning through playful, age-appropriate activities. Start date is immediate, with the role offering long-term temporary, and full-/part-time options.

You will help develop communication and social skills, assist with daily routines, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. DBS checks and UK work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or substantial experience with young children.
• Experience in early years, nursery or primary settings is desirable.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of child development and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning and development through play-based activities.
• Help children develop communication, social and early learning skills.
• Assist with daily routines, meals, personal care and transitions.
• Prepare and support age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and independence.
• Observe progress and share updates with colleagues.
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents or carers.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and support children's wellbeing at all times.
