Job summary

Bishop Creighton Academy in Peterborough is seeking a Learning Assistant to support Children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 with individual and group activities, delivering targeted interventions to boost progress. You will help with resources, foster a nurturing environment and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

The role focuses on supporting development across learning and wellbeing in a supportive academy within Greenwood Academies Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting young children in Early Years and Key Stage 1.
• Experience delivering rapid catch-up interventions for younger pupils.
• Ability to support children with a range of learning, communication and developmental needs.
• GCSEs in English and Maths; Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Support learning across a range of classroom and structured activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups to promote progress, independence and confidence.
• Deliver targeted interventions to close gaps in learning.
• Support pupils' physical, emotional, social and educational development.
• Assist with preparation of resources and personalised learning support.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils and adults.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
