Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary SEN school in West London for a Nurture Teacher to lead a Year 7 Nurture class from September 2026.

You will work to build relationships, establish a calm, structured environment and help pupils develop emotional regulation and resilience, with a focus on English and Maths.

QTS is essential and prior SEN SEMH experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Hold QTS – essential.
  • Have previous experience working in a SEN school – essential.
  • Have strong experience working with pupils with SEMH needs – essential.
  • Be confident teaching English and Maths to Year 7 pupils.
  • Have experience working within a Nurture, SEMH or specialist setting.
  • Be highly skilled in behaviour management and relationship building.
  • Understand trauma-informed and nurturing approaches to education.
  • Be calm, patient and consistent.
  • Have high expectations while recognising and responding to individual pupil needs.
  • Be passionate about helping young people who have struggled within mainstream education.

Nurture Teacher - Year 7 SEMH

Location: West London
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary SEN school in West London for an enthusiastic and experienced Nurture Teacher to teach a Year 7 class from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who understands that successful teaching within an SEMH environment is about much more than delivering lessons. You will need to be able to build strong relationships, create a calm and structured classroom and help pupils develop the confidence and emotional skills needed to engage with education.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a Year 7 Nurture class, delivering a broad and engaging programme designed around the individual needs of pupils.
