Job summary

Teaching Personnel seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Ferryhill. You will support pupils through nurture provision and targeted small-group interventions, in-class and in the afternoons, helping to boost confidence, wellbeing and engagement with learning.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience with children in education, a nurturing approach, and strong teamwork and communication skills to build positive relationships with pupils and help them progress.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience delivering small-group interventions is desirable.
  • A nurturing, patient and supportive approach.
  • Confidence working with children who may require additional emotional or learning support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Someone who can build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils both within the classroom and through targeted nurture and intervention sessions.
  • Work with small groups of pupils in the afternoons to develop confidence and engagement with learning.
  • Adapt activities to meet individual needs and help children make positive progress.
