Unit secretaries play a vital role in the healthcare industry by supporting patients and medical professionals. The Nursing Unit Secretary performs clerical, receptionist, and transporter duties. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to multi-task. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) cares for critically ill patients requiring surgery or recovering from surgery. Patients in this unit may be too unstable for regular nursing floors, and ICU-level monitoring may be required. The unit is managed by physicians with surgical backgrounds.
