Qualifications

• Registered Nurse qualification.
• 2–3 years post-qualification experience.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in elderly care or a relevant field.
• Previous management experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective nursing care is delivered to residents in the nursing home.
• Directly manage the Registered General Nurses on the team.
• Take overall responsibility for managing the Nursing Team.
• Coordinate the resident assessment process and person-centred care plans, involving residents in identifying their needs and preferences.
• Pass relevant resident information to the right staff using methods such as APB, handover and MCM.
• Introduce communication mechanisms such as team meetings and communication boards.
• Arrange team meetings, including agendas, attendance, outcomes, actions and minutes.
• Support, guide and develop team members through regular supervisions, one-to-ones and yearly reviews.
• Support individual performance management plans for identified staff.
