Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Nursery Practitioner for a permanent, part-time role in York. The successful candidate will support learning and development through storytelling, outdoor activities and forest school, creating a safe and engaging environment for young children.

Requirements include Level 2 in Early Years or Childcare, EYFS knowledge, and experience in an Early Years setting. The role offers on-site work, DBS checks and ongoing training opportunities.

The nursery is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can engage children through storytelling and create positive learning experiences.

The nursery is looking to take on a Nursery Practitioner on a permanent, part-time basis with an immediate start. The successful Nursery Practitioner will support children with their learning and development, including reading stories, planning engaging activities and helping to provide a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.

The successful Nursery Practitioner will have:

• A minimum Level 2 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
• Experience working within an Early Years setting
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage / EYFS
• Confidence reading stories and engaging groups of young children
• An enthusiastic approach to outdoor learning and forest school activities
• A caring, patient and adaptable approach

Summary

Job Title: Nursery Practitioner

Location: York

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £14.00 - £15.00 per hour

The successful Nursery Practitioner will be responsible for planner and delivering age-appropriate activities that support children’s learning and development. This includes setting up learning activities; implementing the curriculum; monitoring child progress; maintaining a safe and engaging environment. The role also involves supervision, communication with parents and collaboration with colleagues. Ongoing training and professional development will be supported as part of the team’s growth initiatives.

Qualifications: A Level 2 qualification in Early Years or Childhood Education, or equivalent experience. Experience working within an Early Years setting, familiarity with EYFS, and competence in storytelling and outdoor learning. Enthusiastic, caring, patient and adaptable, with a strong focus on child safety and education quality.
