Job summary

Little Elms Daycare Nursery & Pre-Schools Beckenham Beckenham is seeking a skilled Third in Charge to lead daily nursery operations, mentor staff and ensure high-quality childcare in a Beckenham Beckenham location.

The role is based on a 40-hour week, offering a salary of £31,200–£32,760 per year with an additional welcome bonus of up to £2,000, and opportunities to drive improvements in safety and learning environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 in Childcare or higher.
• Experience in an early years setting with children.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate staff.

We are seeking a Third in Charge at our Beckenham Queens Road nursery. The successful candidate will assist in managing daily operations, providing leadership, and ensuring high-quality childcare services.

Duties

• Manage the nursery in the absence of the Manager and Deputy Manager
• Oversee staff and children to maintain a safe and nurturing environment
• Lead by example, demonstrating excellent childcare practices
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement in nursery operations
• Support the team in delivering outstanding care and education

Skills

• Minimum Level 3 or above in Childcare.
• Experience working with children in an early years setting
• Strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate staff
• Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and colleagues
• Valid driving licence for potential travel requirements
• Proficient in English language for effective interaction with all parties
• Qualifications in Early Childhood Education or relevant field

Key Responsibilities

We are currently for a skilled and experienced Nursery Third in Charge to be based in our BeckenhamNursery. The nursery offers state-of-the-art facilities, combining bright and spacious indoor rooms along with fabulous outdoor areas.

You can earn up to £32760 per annum, depending on experience, working Full time (40 hours per week) – 4 days a week.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• At least 1 years’ experience in a Nursery Practitioner role or equivalent
• Level 2/3 or above qualification in Early Years childcare
• Excellent knowledge & understanding of the EYFS & Statutory framework
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to use your own initiative
• Your passion to be shown in your day-to-day interaction with children
