Job summary

Willing Care Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Third in Charge – Level 3 to join a newly opened nursery in the UK. The role leads the nursery team and supports daily operations, reporting to the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.

The ideal candidate holds a full Level 3 Early Years qualification or above, with prior Room Leader or higher experience and a strong EYFS background. The position offers a 40-hour week and a competitive salary.

• Experience as Nursery Room Leader or above – essential.
• Strong EYFS knowledge, safeguarding and child development.
• Experience leading and supporting a team of practitioners.
• Confident supporting nursery operations and maintaining high standards of care.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Proactive, nurturing and hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager with daily operations.
• Lead, motivate and support the nursery team.
• Maintain high standards of care and education in line with the EYFS.
• Promote engaging, child-led learning across indoor and outdoor environments.
• Mentor practitioners and support their professional development.
• Oversee observations, assessments and developmental progress.
• Build positive relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.
• Support staff deployment and smooth daily routines.
• Maintain safeguarding, health and safety and nursery standards.
• Take on additional leadership responsibilities when required.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Room Leader ready to develop their leadership skills and help shape a nurturing, inspiring Early Years environment.

What We're Looking For

• A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above – essential
• Previous experience as a Nursery Room Leader or above – essential
• Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and child development
• Experience leading and supporting a team of practitioners
• Confidence supporting nursery operations and maintaining high standards of care
