Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting Welsh-Speaking Nursery Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming early years settings across the Haverfordwest area. This term-time role offers weekly PAYE and flexible scheduling to suit your availability.

You’ll support young learners, help with language development in Welsh, and assist staff in creating a calm, engaging learning environment for children’s first steps in education.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh speaker is essential.
• Level 2/3 Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
• Previous experience with children, ideally in nursery/early years.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, patient, nurturing approach.
• Willingness to obtain DBS via Update Service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s development through play and structured activities.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in early years settings.
• Assist in managing daily routines and learning through play across Haverfordwest areas.

What We’re Looking For

• Fluent Welsh speaker – essential
• Level 2/3 Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Previous experience working with children, ideally within nursery or early years
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Warm, patient, caring, and nurturing approach
• Creative and enthusiastic attitude towards learning through play
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
