Job summary

Laburnum Primary School is seeking an experienced Nursery Room Leader to join our EYFS team. You will lead the room, ensure a safe and nurturing environment, and work with the EYFS lead to meet children’s educational and emotional needs.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 in childcare and Education, at least two years’ experience with children in educational settings, planning activities in line with EYFS, and strong IT skills including CPOMs. Paediatric First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in childcare and Education is required.
• A minimum of two years’ experience with children, preferably in education or nursery.
• Knowledge of planning and development of activities in line with EYFS.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft packages, MIS and CPOMs.
• Ability to communicate effectively face to face, on the telephone and in writing.
• Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to acquire).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of the room in liaison with the EYFS lead.
• Ensure a high-quality, safe and nurturing environment that meets educational, developmental and emotional needs.
• Promote the aims, values and high standards of the Nursery.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
• Build strong partnerships with parents/carers and encourage engagement.
• Lead and motivate the Nursery team and promote a professional working environment.
• Handle safeguarding in the room and liaise with the DSL and external agencies when required.
