Job summary

Hedgehog Recruitment seeks a Nursery Early Years Practitioner for a term-time position near Dorking. A Level 2/3 (or above) in Early years childcare is expected, with a warm and stimulating learning environment for 0–4 year olds in two classrooms.

The role involves supporting high-quality care, key worker duties in the under 2's room, planning, and collaborating with the management team. Flexible hours and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about childcare and helping children to achieve, play and be safe.
• Have previous experience of working with children under the age of five.
• EYFS knowledge and understanding is desirable.

• Provide a positive learning environment with a range of experiences for the children.
• Be able to have key person responsibility in the under 2's room and carry out daily and individual planning.
• Ensure a safe, secure and caring environment for children's well-being.
• Assist the Nursery Management in day-to-day high quality childcare.

We are currently recruiting a Early Years Practitioner for our beautiful nursery and preschool near Dorking.

We cater for children from 0- 4 years with two dedicated classrooms.

Main responsibilities and duties:

• Provide a positive learning environment that offers choice, independence and a range of experiences, whilst meeting all of the children's needs.
• Be able to have key person responsibility in the under 2's room and carry out daily and individual planning.
• Ensuring a safe, secure and caring environment for the well-being of the children.
• Assisting the Nursery Management in all aspects of providing day to day high quality childcare.

The ideal candidate will;

• Be passionate about childcare and helping children to achieve, play and be safe.
• Have previous experience of working with children under the age of five.
• Ideally be qualified to NVQ level 2 / 3 or equivalent (Higher) in Early years childcare. Alternatively have Early years childcare experience.
• Have a good working knowledge of the EYFS - Early Years Foundation Stages

We are a term time pre-school working 38 week per year. Hours ideally are 8-5pm . But we can discuss shorter days this can be working over 2, 3 or 4 days per week.
