Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking 5 permanent Nursery Practitioners to join a specialist education setting in Yeovil, supporting children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs.

You're energetic, caring, and able to work with non-verbal pupils, learning their cues and building a trusting relationship. Both full-time and part-time roles are available, with immediate start options.

Qualifications

• All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
• DBS check is required and full safeguarding checks will be undertaken.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with profound, complex or additional needs in daily classroom activities and routines.
• Assist non-verbal pupils by learning their cues and communication methods to give them a voice.
• Collaborate with teachers to create engaging, positive learning environments and monitor pupil progress.

We are recruiting for 5 permanent Nursery Practitioners to join a specialist education setting in Yeovil, supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs.

The setting supports pupils across Lower School, Upper School and Sixth Form, providing a positive and supportive environment where every pupil is encouraged to learn, develop and thrive.

Many of the pupils are non-verbal, so you will play an incredibly important part in giving them a voice. This means getting to know each pupil as an individual, learning to recognise their cues and communication, and being someone they can rely on for support throughout their day.

For this setting, personality is incredibly important. They are looking for people who bring energy, positivity and warmth into the classroom and can create an engaging environment for their pupils.

• Are bubbly, positive, energetic and caring
• Have experience supporting children or young people with profound, complex or additional needs
• Are confident supporting pupils who may be non-verbal and can learn to understand their individual communication and cues
• Are passionate about creating a positive learning and development environment
• Can be a consistent and supportive adult that pupils can depend on
• Have British Sign Language (BSL) skills, which would be highly beneficial
• Want to build a career within a specialist education environment
