Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced EYFS Teacher to support a specialist SEND setting in Yeovil on a full-time basis. The placement starts immediately, with an October 2026 start also considered, and may extend beyond the half-term.

You will lead an EYFS/SEND classroom, plan engaging activities, and adapt lessons for diverse developmental needs while ensuring safeguarding and a stable, nurturing environment throughout the placement.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching EYFS, Reception or within a specialist SEND school.
• Ability to adapt practice for children with SEND.
• Patient, creative and adaptable approach with safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging EYFS learning activities.
• Adapting lessons for children at different developmental levels.
• Supporting communication, interaction, independence and emotional development.
• Using sensory and practical activities to encourage participation.

Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced and adaptable EYFS Teacher to support a specialist education setting in Yeovil on a full-time basis.

The placement is available immediately, with an October 2026 start also considered, and is initially expected to run until the October half-term.

There is potential for the position to be extended depending on the needs of the setting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who understands Early Years education and knows how to adapt their practice for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are looking for someone experienced who can hit the ground running and provide stability, structure and engaging learning from day one.

You will be responsible for leading an EYFS/SEND classroom, creating learning opportunities that are accessible, purposeful and appropriate for each child's individual stage of development.

• Using sensory and practical activities to encourage participation
• Monitoring children's progress and responding to individual targets
• Creating a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider SEND team

This position requires an educator with strong classroom experience who can step confidently into the setting without needing extensive guidance.

Previous experience teaching EYFS, Reception or within a specialist SEND school is important. Experience supporting children with more complex needs would be particularly valuable.

You will need to be patient, creative and adaptable, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and the ability to recognise that progress may look very different for each child.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
