Our Nursery

Built in approximately 1929 for the Hitchin Glove Company, Toad Hall Day Nursery now occupies the rear of the unit and we are a short walk from a lovely park and local amenities. Our 107-place nursery is situated close to the Town Centre and railway station. With good access to motorways and other main routes, the setting serves the local and wider community and is close to local schools. Our bustling market town is a short walk or five-minute drive and has a range of independent shops, coffee shops and more. In 2019, our team were very proud to be awarded a ‘Good’ OFSTED rating.

Nursery Practitioner

We have exciting opportunities for Full-time Level 3 Nursery Practitioners (40 hours per week).

• Salary for Nursery Practitioner*: Up to £27,955 per annum

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Working together with the rest of the team to provide high quality care for children aged 0-5.
• Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery by adhering to the relevant policies and procedures.
• Using your knowledge, experience and imagination to come up with new ideas and activities.
• Building relationships with children and communicating well with their parents.
• Making sure every working day is fun!

Your qualifications and experience:

• Suitable qualifications: an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
• Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, and the ability to refer to the EYFS Framework when planning activities.
• To be aware of the role of planning, observation and keeping records when caring for nursery aged children.
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and meeting their needs.
• A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
