Role Description

The Nursery Practitioner will provide day-to-day care and supervision for children, supporting their physical, emotional, social, and educational development. Responsibilities include planning and delivering age-appropriate activities, observing and recording children's progress, and maintaining a safe, clean, and inclusive learning environment. The role involves working closely with colleagues to implement the nursery's curriculum, meeting safeguarding and health and safety requirements, and communicating effectively with parents and caregivers. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bradford, requiring consistent attendance and active participation in team meetings and training. The Nursery Practitioner will also contribute to nursery routines, including meal times, personal care, and transitions throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Relevant early years childcare qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years or Childcare) and up-to-date knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and inclusive practice, with a commitment to following all policies and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Patience, reliability, and a caring, child-centred approach, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Basic IT skills for recording observations, communicating with the team, and accessing training resources.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
