Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a nursery setting in Market Harborough (LE16) that is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Practitioner to join its Early Years team. This full-time Nursery Practitioner position offers varied shifts, with working hours starting as early as 8:00am or finishing

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification, an equivalent qualification, or a minimum of 6 months' relevant experience within an Early Years setting
• Understanding of the EYFS curriculum, Early Learning Goals and child development
• Experience supporting children through play-based learning, continuous provision and small group activities
• Confidence supporting children’s individual needs, daily routines and personal care requirements
• Caring, creative and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children's learning and development

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning in line with the EYFS
• Help develop engaging continuous provision and lead small group activities
• Encourage progress towards the Early Learning Goals
• Support children’s daily routines, including personal care, while promoting independence

Education

Level 2 Childcare qualification

The setting focuses on creating meaningful learning experiences through play, encouraging children to explore their surroundings, develop new skills and build confidence in a nurturing environment.

This full-time Nursery Practitioner position offers varied shifts, with working hours starting as early as 8:00am or finishing as late as 6:00pm, depending on the rota. You will support children's learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), help develop engaging continuous provision, lead small group activities and encourage progress towards the Early Learning Goals. You will also support children’s daily routines, including personal care, while promoting independence and positive relationships.

The successful Nursery Practitioner will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification, an equivalent qualification, or a minimum of 6 months' relevant experience within an Early Years setting
• A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum, Early Learning Goals and child development
• Experience supporting children through play-based learning, continuous provision and small group activities
• Confidence supporting children’s individual needs, daily routines and personal care requirements
• A caring, creative and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children's learning and development
• A reliable and flexible attitude with a commitment to safeguarding. A driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential
