Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner for a Belper setting (DE56). This full-time role runs 8:00am–6:00pm, delivering play-based activities and supporting children through daily routines in a nurturing environment.

Applicants should hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification or have at least six months of Early Years experience, with a patient, caring approach and safeguarding commitment. Driving licence is helpful but not essential.

Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £14.25 - £16.50 per hour

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will work full-time across a variety of shifts between 8:00am and 6:00pm, supporting children throughout their daily routines. You will deliver engaging play-based activities, encourage learning through continuous provision, support small group sessions and provide personal care where required. A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the Early Learning Goals and child development is essential. A driving licence is helpful but is not a requirement for the role.

The successful Nursery Practitioner will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification, or a minimum of six months' recent experience within an Early Years setting.
• A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Early Learning Goals.
• Experience supporting children's learning through continuous provision and play-based activities.
• Confidence working with children individually and in small groups.
• A patient, caring and positive approach with a genuine passion for Early Years education.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
