A setting based in the Banbury area is looking for a Nursery Manager for their setting.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, starting as soon as possible.

Salary: £28,000 to £38,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Nursery Managers take full responsibility for:

  • Promoting and exemplifying the purpose, mission, vision, and values of the Nursery at all times.
  • Ensuring excellence in early childhood education and care, recognized through excellent Ofsted inspection outcomes.
  • Leading and motivating the nursery team to pursue excellence through persuasive and passionate communication, being a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and positive leader and manager.
  • Driving sustainable and ethical business growth through overall management of the nursery, including business and financial administration.
Main Duties
Excellence in Early Education
  • Have high expectations for children's achievements and ensure high standards of provision and care for all children.
  • Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead, advocating for safeguarding children and protecting their physical and psychological well-being.
  • Implement safeguarding and child protection policies, including the Prevent Duty, to ensure safety and security of children and staff.
  • Establish communication links with other agencies.
  • Maintain health and safety standards, ensuring staff compliance and awareness, including training.
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards, ensuring the nursery is safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Record, report, and monitor all accidents and incidents as per procedures.
  • Ensure risk assessments and health and safety policies are robust and followed.
  • Oversee maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and furnishings.
  • Ensure the physical health and well-being of children.
  • Order supplies, food, and equipment necessary for nursery operations.
  • Manage children's healthcare needs, including allergies and care plans.
  • Follow relevant Acts and legal requirements related to employment and record keeping.
  • Support staff understanding and implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Birth to Five Matters guidance.
  • Ensure delivery of enriching activities, curriculum, and pedagogy.
  • Develop and monitor systems for child development records, including online learning journeys.
  • Provide policies, support, and guidance to the nursery team.
  • Liaise with Ofsted, Local Authority, and other professional bodies.
  • Manage transitions for children between rooms and onto next educational stages, in partnership with parents.
  • Evaluate quality and outcomes through self-evaluation, acting on feedback for improvement.
  • Identify strengths and areas for development, creating focused improvement plans.
  • Work with parents and carers, communicating effectively and supporting home learning programs.
  • Handle parental concerns and organize meetings and events.
  • Advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with the nursery SENCo to support children with special needs and liaise with outside agencies as needed.
