Job summary

Staff Match Limited in Bedfordshire is seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead a busy nursery team and drive high standards of care and education.

You will work with the director on budgets, occupancy, and KPI targets, oversee recruitment, appraisals and staff development, lead EYFS planning, maintain records, and collaborate with parents to create a safe, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 Childcare or equivalent is required.
• Experience leading and motivating teams.
• Experience with safeguarding and health & safety practices.
• Desirable: Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and Paediatric First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment, training and development of staff team ensuring all staff understand and follow nursery policy and procedures.
• Work closely with the director and manage budgets, occupancy levels and KPI's.
• Assist in the recruitment of nursery staff, manage inductions, supervisions and appraisals.
• Lead the team and support EYFS planning to ensure children are learning and in a safe, caring environment.
• Ensure children's observations, assessment and development records are maintained.
• Manage marketing activities, such as newsletters, open days, promotions etc.
• Lead responsibility of Safeguarding and Health & Safety, ensuring policy adherence.
• Promote diversity and equal opportunity.
• Work in partnership with parents to form caring and trusting relationships.
• Ensure professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
• Lead by example with a flexible approach and high standards of care and education.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager to join a well-established nursery group in Bedford Bedfordshire.

Person Specification:

• NVQ level 3 Childcare qualification or above
• Experience of leading and motivating teams
• Experience of managing Safeguarding and Health & Safety
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)
• Paediatric First Aid (Desirable)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role

Some of the Nursery Manager responsibilities will include:
