Nursery Leader – Heartsease Primary Academy

Contract: Part-time, Permanent – 42 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Salary: NJC Scale SO1, point 23-25 (FTE: £34,435 - £36,362 / Actual: £32,684 - £34,513 per annum)

About the school

Heartsease Primary Academy is part of the Unity Schools Partnership, which provides opportunities to work with colleagues from across the wider Trust and CPD opportunities. The academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS and all other relevant checks will be required for this post.

Role purpose

Heartsease Primary Academy are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to lead our nursery. The school is on a rapid improvement journey, and this is an exciting time to join the team. The role focuses on developing children’s academic and social skills within a warm and welcoming environment and a dedicated staff team that supports one another. There is a clear vision for school development to improve outcomes for all pupils.

Responsibilities

Lead the nursery and contribute to the ongoing improvement of early years provision. Work with families and the local community to support children’s development and achievement. Maintain safeguarding and welfare practices in line with Unity Schools Partnership policies. Engage in whole-school and trust-wide CPD opportunities to continually develop practice.

Qualifications and requirements

Qualities include dynamic leadership, commitment to safeguarding, and ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external partners. DBS and all other relevant checks will be required.
