Happy Days Nurseries is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team. You will work 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, alongside our Chef, preparing healthy meals for children and supporting the Let’s Cook activities.

We offer benefits including pension, extended leave, DBS update service, and wellbeing tools. Training is provided, and a Food Hygiene certificate may be funded if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience planning child-friendly, nutritious meals.
• Knowledge of healthy eating programmes for children.
• Willingness to support nursery kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to weekly menus for all children.
• Provide dietary alternatives for children with special needs.
• Maintain health regulations and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Assist Chef and deliver meals to nursery rooms safely.
• Communicate allergies and dietary requirements clearly.
• Keep kitchen and equipment clean; wash up after service.
• Support ‘Let’s Cook’ activity with children and staff.
