Job summary

The Learning Experience UK is seeking a part-time Nursery Housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe environment in the nursery, with responsibilities across playrooms, bathrooms, staff rooms and communal areas.

You will handle daily cleaning, laundry, and stock management, ensuring high hygiene standards and compliance with health and safety policies, while supporting a happy learning environment.

Qualifications

• Legal right to work in the UK before employment.
• Experience in cleaning or housekeeping preferred.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Clean all nursery areas to high hygiene standards.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks: vacuum, mop, dust and sanitize.
• Disinfect high-touch areas and nursery equipment.
• Manage laundry for towels and cloths.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies.
• Maintain toilet areas stocked with essentials.

This position is an part time role. 5 hours per day.

Eligibility: The successful candidate must have the legal right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment. Please note that this role is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

Role Overview

This role includes maintaining high standards of hygiene across the nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all nursery areas, including playrooms, bathrooms, staff rooms, and communal spaces, are cleaned to the highest standard.
• Carry out daily cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch areas and equipment in line with nursery policies.
• Manage laundry duties, including washing and drying nursery towels, cleaning cloths and stocking them.
• Ensure that all toilets are regularly cleaned, well-stocked with essential supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels), and maintained throughout the day.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and notify management when stock replenishment is needed.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for children and staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
• Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
• Previous experience in a cleaning role would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and parents.
• Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping (preferred).
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations (or willingness to undertake training).
